That’s a great question. We rarely get any comments on issues with voice quality. There are a few ways in which calls through iPads can function. Most customers that are currently using iPads login to the TernioSwitch using their mobile number. In this case, the call quality is based on the cell strength of the mobile device, and again, this is working great for everyone.
Additionally, many users have Wi-Fi calling as an option on their mobile device, and if this is turned on, the calls will route through a Wi-Fi signal rather than the cell system in the case of a poor cell signal. We have found this to work great as well and the quality to be very high.
If the users are using both an iPad and an iPhone, the user can activate “Allow Calls on Other Devices” on their iPad and they can then answer the mobile device directly from the iPad itself. Of course, the call quality is still based on the mobile device, but there is no degradation by answering on the iPad.
The final option is to login using a third-party softphone with a dedicated number. This way all calls route through Wi-Fi and assuming there is a good signal, the call quality will be excellent.
The bottom line is that the call quality should be great with an adequate to excellent call signal.
